This afternoon, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, we went to Mount Sinai (1470 Madison Ave.) to attend their Community Advisory Board meeting. There were 4 of us (GHC members), one Mt. Sinai community relations person,
Christopher Thomas Consalvo, Manager, Community & Government Affairs, The Mount Sinai Health System

e. Christopher.Consalvo@mssm.edu and 6 community board members (volunteers at MS, practitioners, community members…).
Essentially, we took over the meeting. We reiterated our points, talked data, hammered home the oversaturation issue and got Chris to voice 3 main points:
- Mount Sinai acknowledges that there has been “massive” community opposition and is actively looking to change the services offered at the 124th Street location
- Chris said the new offerings would “not be controversial”.
- We (GHC) is welcome and encouraged to attend the full board meeting on Tuesday, May 28th – 4:30pm – 1470 Madison Avenue.
The key thing is we need to show up in numbers at this community advisory full board meeting. Chris said the people who talk to the president (of Mt. Sinai) and the Mt. Sinai Trustees will be there. This is, perhaps, the most vital meeting in this struggle. We need to have a strong, vocal presence there. I firmly believe this is their most vulnerable pain point, and we can have far more impact there, than other venues as it gets us closest to the true decision makers.
Book it.
May 28. 4:30pm.
We need numbers.
